Upcoming Teaching in 2026
Wed January 14, 2026 10-12, and Dec 17, 2025
As part of Compostable Feminism classes organized by Rosemary Hannon and Miriam Wolodarski
Berkeley Finnish Hall, Berkeley, CA
I want to share explorations of the mechanoreceptors using material from Body Mind Centering and movement science. We will explore the skin mechanoreceptors that provide information about joint position, and discrimination of shapes, textures, light and deep touch and vibration. The idea is to use this material as a starting point to create movement landscapes and relations between movers.

These classes are part of an initiative that I launched in 2024 along with movement artists Joy Cosculluela and Mihyun Lee to create more opportunities for migrant women to teach somatic methods in the United States. We hope that our collective efforts contribute to open more opportunities for migrant women to be part of the somatic dance community and to foster transformative experiences that celebrate diversity.
