Creative movement for women

  • In this class we use elements of experiential anatomy and Body-Mind Centering to awaken and create awareness of the different systems of the body: the bones, fluids, organs, muscles, and nervous system.  In addition, we use the somatic explorations to open a space for self-exploration and creativity. We use individual, duet and group exercises.
  • I taught this class regularly for four years to women who were recuperating from drug abuse and domestic violence through the Purple Moon Dance Project, a non-profit organization based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

CO-TEACHING A  SERIES OF CLASSES:  Somatic pathways and creative landscapes
A practice group that intends to promote improvisation based on somatic explorations.

We started these classes in the summer of 2017, and we are very happy with the response and commitment of class participants! I have had the fortune of co-teach with Tamalpa Life-Art practitioner Joy Cosculluela. We continued teaching through the Winter and Spring of 2018.  Now we are taking a  break and we are hoping to resume this classes in 2021.

We meet at  once a month.

Sliding scale: $15-20
Class from 1:30-3:00pm.

We combine elements of  Body-Mind Centering and Tamalpa Life-Art  Process to offer scores that awaken the awareness and expression of the different systems of the body. Tuning in to sensations from our bones/ muscles/ nerves/ organs/ fluids and other body systems, we awake creative impulses. With improvisation, we activate our capacity for discovery and embodied expression. Drawing/ writing integrate and support our experience.
